Before reading Supreme Power I was unfamiliar with the characters, but Tim Bradstreet did a good job of establishing a quick pace for the story and introduce "real world issues" into this story. The tone for kept me guessing what will happen next. While focused more on introducing the main character, Doctor Spectrum a.k.a. Captain Joe Ledger, it does include some good action sequences. The covers "Explicit Content" label comes with good warning there are 2 "F-bombs" are dropped in the book.
Manuel Garcia’s illustrations are finely detailed and as Quesada says,” He puts 200% into everything he does!” I was curious how an artist would depict someone named Dr. Spectrum and was pleased with the creative way they showed his powers.
My final thoughts about Supreme Power #1 was an over all positive outcome. While I felt like I was missing some information, never have reading any of the previous series of Supreme stories, the plot was easy to follow and engaging. I enjoyed the psychological aspect that was focused on in this issue causing readers to consider how power affects people. Some good twists were thrown into this issue, which make readers want to continue reading to find out more about what will happen with this story.
