Marvel U Vs. Punisher wrapped up today & while I’ve enjoyed the series I hit that pinnacle point you reach in almost all Punisher stories that just seems to cliche now, a four page explanation of his back story and how the slaughter of his family adds to his need to kill the bad guy. Come on Jonathon Mayberry, I was actually enjoying it till you went there. We all know who he is and that horrible mobsters killed his family, hell they even tell him in the book they don’t need his back story.

Ok, rant is finished…..

…..Otherwise MU Vs. Punisher is a great book that has been overlooked after all the excess crap that Marvel publishes. A combination of the former MU Vs. Punisher and Marvel Zombies, this incarnation indulges us with with the MAX like violence coupled with an interesting evolution in the Marvel U. A virus, not unlike the one in the Zombie U, has been unleashed through out the world and it has caused the infected to become primitive; Take that and bang that chick over her head if you want her kinda primal.

The only one who can set the world straight again is The Punisher and his mighty ability to kill kill kill.
